Our in-house club tournament got underway this Thursday 12th Feb. The draw is available on the club notice board each club night and we also hope to have it here for viewing.
Pat Butler, is anxious that all players make an effort to play their matches whenever they get a chance during club nights.
We have spent a few years now in talking about getting such a comp going so fair deuce to Pat for "taking the bull by the horns" and getting it going.

5th Div. Ladies Team of 4 Winners
Well done to our 5th Div Ladies who were successful in beating a very good Country Club team in the final of the County Team of 4 competition last Saturday 7th Feb.
Team was Anna Cashman, Miriam Murphy, Eileen Ryan & Niamh Connolly.

A reminder about our Table Quiz in The Spining Wheel pub, Templemore on Friday 20th Feb at 9.30pm. All are welcome. Refreshments will be served and a raffle will be held.

County Juvenile Competitions
The County Juvenile Singles Championships are to take place in Our Lady's Secondary School, Templemore on Sunday 22nd Feb.
The age groups will be U-11, U-13, U-15 & U-17
The County Doubles will also be coming up (so get think about possible playing partners) and the County Junior/Senior Team Championships (4 Boys & 2 Girls).
We really need more girls in the club so get recruiting !

County Cup & League
The 2nd half of the league will be shortly under way but before this the annual Cup competition will begin. Notification will be given out shortly to the players involved on the competing teams.
U-16/U-19 County Schools Championships
Well done to our lads involved on the Our Lady's Secondary School Badminton Teams in the County Schools Championships.
The U-16a team overcame a very good Roscrea Team in reaching the final but were unfortunately beaten by a very good Clonmel High School team.
The U-19 team also were unlucky in their final as it was Roscrea's turn to avenge the U-16 result.
Teams were U-16 A - Shane Cashman, Sean Patrick Guerens, Craig Cleary and Jamie Maloney. U-16 B - Shane Hassett, Alan O Riordain, Liam Murphy and Michael Kennedy
U-19 - Eoin Bourke, Eoin Fitzpatrick, Dean Fairbrother and John Paul Kennedy.
Head Umpire - Bill Bergin

County Singles Results
On Feb 1st the County Singles Championships were held in Colaiste Pobal, Roscrea.
We had many first time entrants at singles championship level with a notable result for Catherine Scanlon in the 6th Division Ladies, who was beaten in 3 sets in the final, which was great for her. There's always next year, as we 'TOO OFTEN' say in Templemore.
Robert Ingram had another great day winning the 4th Division Men and was beaten in 3 sets in the final of the 3rd Division.
In the 4th Division Ladies, Niamh Connolly was very narrowly beaten in the final.
It was great to see some of our Juveniles, Craig Cleary and Sean Patrick Guerens, having a go at this level and the experience will stand to them for future championships.
